Stanley "Stan" G. Owen is a Welsh former rugby union and professional rugby league footballer of the 1950s and '60s who at club level has played rugby union (RU) for Pontypridd RFC, and at representative level has played rugby league (RL) for Great Britain, and Wales, and at club level for Leigh, St. Helens, and Rochdale Hornets playing at Prop, i.e. number 8 or 10, during the era of contested scrums.[1]
Stan Owen won a cap for Great Britain (RL) while at Leigh in 1958 against France.[2]
Stan Owen also represented Wales (RL) while at Leigh in a non-Test match on the 19th May 1955 against France 'B' at Stade Marcel Saupin, Nantes, and in a non-Test match on the 17th February 1963 against France at Stadium Municipal, Toulouse.
